Palais is a custom typeface inspired by the work of Slim Aarons, whose photography captured the effortless luxury and exclusivity of mid-century jet-set life. Drawing from vintage Vogue covers and the visual language of leisure and travel, the typeface reflects a balance between sophistication and playfulness.
Designed with soft curves, delicate swirls, and subtle overlaps, Palais evokes a high-end yet approachable aesthetic suited for editorial applications. The project extended beyond the typeface into a cohesive visual system, including a booklet styled as an invitation into this world, along with supporting pieces such as posters and vintage-inspired merchandise. The final outcome captures the spirit of its inspiration while maintaining a distinct and versatile typographic voice.
